Cupping is an ancient therapy that is steadily being adopted as a complementary and alternative treatment. The cups lift the tissue with applied suction and can help with pain, inflammation, digestive issues, circulation and stress relief.

It has many applications for common conditions that range from back and shoulder tension to joint disorders and sinus congestion. There are even applications that support athletic performance and prenatal care.

Gift Certificates:

Are available for a specific treatment, and therefore has an expiry which has a "Book appointment before..." date on them. Insurance receipts are not issued for gift certificates. Please contact us ahead so we can arrange a payment/pick up time (we do not have a receptionist onsite and we can not accommodate a walk in). You can pay in advance via e-transfer to the clinic or your RMT directly and pick up gift certificate from our mailbox at your convenience.

Privacy and Sharing of Information:

Your medical and personal information is collected at our clinic in order to provide you with safe, effective and ethical care. All information will be kept by the Health Information Custodians at In Balance Massage Therapy or your RMT. RMTs practice in collaboration with other health care professionals, called your circle of care. RMTs allow others within your circle of care to access your health records when such access is reasonably necessary for the provision of healthcare unless you the patient/client has expressly instructed the RMT not to provide such access.

Cancellation Policy:  You may CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE FOR FREE up to 24 hours in advance.  

Your treatment time has been set aside exclusively for you. RMTs at this clinic only earn a living by providing treatments not by being present at the clinic.  This means that you agree to give as much notice as possible when you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason. Most RMTs would prefer 48 hours notice. By booking an appointment at our clinic you are agreeing to this policy: 24 hours notice is required to change or cancel your appointment.


If you do not meet this requirement you will be responsible to pay for the full amount of the time you requested your RMT be available for you. Our time is just as important as yours. An invoice will be sent to you directly, not your insurance company/benefits.  Unpaid balances will result in cancellation of any future appointments.

 If you do not agree, please cancel your appointment immediately after booking.

 If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please notify your RMT immediately as a courtesy to your RMT and fellow patients who are on the wait list.

We recognize that no one is perfect and there are circumstances that are out of your control (sudden illness, family emergencies, etc.) so your therapist may make an exception to the above policies on those rare occasions on a case by case basis.

If cancelling last minute is happening frequently with you, you may be asked to pre pay for your next treatment.

Arriving Late:

Your appointment time has been set aside exclusively for you and only you. If you are running late your RMT will treat you for the remainder of the scheduled treatment time. You are responsible to pay for the original treatment time as requested for your appointment. We have precise start/stop times and it is unprofessional for us to make the next patient wait because your appointment started late.  

Motor Vehicle Accidents:

If you have been in a MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) please notify us prior to booking your treatment. We are not a registered HCAI Clinic and will refer you out to another clinic that is.

Payment policy:

Please be advised that payment is due, in full, at time of appointment. For your convenience, payment may be made via cash, e-transfer, debit or direct billing may be possible (as a courtesy, it is not a requirement that we offer direct billing) based on your extended health insurance policy. Credit card payment is available but not preferred.

Insurance Billing:

Direct billing to your insurance company is available with most RMT's, please indicate you would like direct billing in advance of your appointment. Please Note: Some plans require a medical prescription prior to direct billing the first time, or every year. If you have any questions about your coverage details please contact your insurance provider for more info, we do not know the details of your specific plan.

If you would prefer direct billing to your insurance company please be advised:

  1. Your RMT will attempt to submit a claim to any insurance company on our eligibility list. Submitting to your secondary plan is often not available on our end. Some exceptions apply.

  2. It is your responsibility to know the details of your coverage (ex: do you require a Dr’s note? How much is covered per treatment and per year? When does your year start/end?).

  3. Your RMT has no control over what coverage you have, if your claim will be successful or the amount that your personal policy will pay or partially pay for your appointment.

  4. Contacting your insurance company in advance and knowing the details of your specific plan will ensure better success in submitting a claim on your behalf. Otherwise you will pay for your appointment and we will issue you a receipt to submit the claim yourself.

  5. Bring a secondary form of payment for any balance owing.


Clinic Details:

All Therapists and Practitioners  at this clinic are Independent Contractors and run their own businesses from within our clinic.  If you have a concern please speak with your Therapist or Practitioner directly so they can address your concern and accommodate you accordingly. Appointments include: intake, assessment and treatment planning, time to get undressed/redressed, use of the washroom, hands on treatment and home care instructions.



​We do not offer refunds. As a client you have rights. You have the right to refuse or withdraw your consent at any time, for any reason. You have the right to stop treatment or ask for a change during treatment (example, how much pressure is being applied or areas of your body you would or would not like treated) at any time, for any reason. You are welcome to try other RMTs to find the right fit for you.
